Propaganda poster and self portrait

This is my propaganda poster, at first I wasn’t sure what to write about but then I remembered how important voting was this year. This year was my first year eligible to vote. I was very happy that my first vote was so important in this election.

This poster was very fun for me to make, I loved taking a message that means so much to me and putting it into art. I really like the colors I used for the propaganda poster, they are muted but I feel like they still pop off the page. they have a strong contrast.

The process of both of these pieces was to have the original photo in the background and then outline it and create many layers to make the hair and facial features. I have an iPad so I used the illustrator app to create these pieces. I have done this before so I was pretty familiar with the layers and how to navigate the app. I then took away the background layer multiple times to just make sure I was keeping the piece as accurate as possible.

I started with the first one and then turned it into the propaganda poster. I took the advice from critique and changed the hair to simplify it and make it flow better with the piece. I also made sure to make the neck and face different colors to show that they are different things. I am proud of how these both came out. I like the colors I chose for both of them and I love seeing the changes I made and how it improved the piece.

  1. I like how sort of straight forward your poster is. It really gets your message across and the colors really catch your eye to make you look at it.

final portfolio

This is my final portfolio. I really like using indesign so I really enjoyed putting this together. Like I have said in other blog posts I like indesign so much because of how organized it is. Indesign just makes sense in my head. I really like how this project came out, I thought it was cool to see my progression through out the year. I also really like how the theme is cohesive throughout the whole project. For my color scheme I took colors from adobe.color.com they had so many to pick from. I went with a muted color pallet so my work could really shine through. I also really like the font I picked I think it is fun and pretty easy to read.

business cards

These are my business cards. For this project we used Indesign and I really enjoyed it, more than I thought I would actually. The thing I liked most about Indesign is how organized everything is. I felt like everything made sense and the saving process was really easy, I love how it put everything in a folder. Also everything just made sense to me having pages, it was nice to see multiple pages at a time.  For all of my business cards I started first by making the 6 pages and then making layers for my text, logo, images, and background. I then imported my logo first, because I wanted it to be my main focus. I then took the colors from all of the three different color logos using the eyedropper tool and saved them. I then added the background to all of the business cards and started to type up the information I wanted on the back.  I really enjoy how all of these came out and I am really proud of them, especially the first one. This one was actually the last one and the fastest...
