brush

this assignment was very fun for me. I love taking past work and adding to it. I have never made a brush in photoshop before so that was very exciting as well. I love my logo to begin with and I love the graffiti look this project gave it. First we started by taking my logo and adding different layers to it and playing with the opacity. The most challenging part was keeping the integrity of the piece, allowing the viewer to still see what the logo is. I think I accomplished this. By having multiple layers it really makes the piece look authentic like it is actually a piece of graffiti.   This is my logo made into a brush, with black and white, and then took the brush and created a pattern. I really like how bright and different this work ended up being compared to my other work. I haven't really done that much work in photoshop and I really liked it. It's hard for me to break out from the norm, but I enjoyed the challenge.

Propaganda poster and self portrait

This is my propaganda poster, at first I wasn’t sure what to write about but then I remembered how important voting was this year. This year was my first year eligible to vote. I was very happy that my first vote was so important in this election.  This poster was very fun for me to make, I loved taking a message that means so much to me and putting it into art. I really like the colors I used for the propaganda poster, they are muted but I feel like they still pop off the page. they have a strong contrast.  The process of both of these pieces was to have the original photo in the background and then outline it and create many layers to make the hair and facial features. I have an iPad so I used the illustrator app to create these pieces. I have done this before so I was pretty familiar with the layers and how to navigate the app. I then took away the background layer multiple times to just make sure I was keeping the piece as accurate as possible.  I started with the first one and t

color logos

these are my first color logos, I wanted to go for a monochromatic look overall, and I think I achieved my vision. The colors I chose all go together and are relatively similar to my natural hair color. I have always wanted to have pink hair so that's why I chose pink for the top design. I really like how it came out, and I think it could be used for a lot of different logos.  These logos are my favorite things I have ever made digitally. My curly hair is my favorite thing about myself so I loved showing that through my art. First I took down a lot of sketches on paper and then started to filter out the ones I didn't like and the last one I chose was very similar to this. I used my iPad again with the illustrator app to create these pieces. By using the pen I got a lot of control with all the curves and tiny details. I love using the apple pencil in my work. When creating these I made a bunch of layers and keep taking them away to see which ones worked the best. I love using la

black and white logo

This is my black and white logo I love this logo. I think it really depicts me well. When creating this logo I wanted to show off my hair which is something that I love a lot about myself. I think the way I depicted it is simple enough, but it is still detailed. I wanted this logo to be able be blown up and brought down into a smaller size and I feel like I accomplished that. This is one of my favorite pieces that I have done.  I have had this logo for a while, but I added a few things to it for this assignment. I played around with the thickness and densities of the lines. I also added the little mole, this made it even more personal because I have that mole on my face. I thought about adding a mask to this piece just given the current climate, but I honestly am so over seeing covid art. Im not sure if that is bad or not, but I just want this pandemic to be over. So I did not end up adding that. Im glad I didn't. I am very excited to finally add color to this piece. I have been

calligram

this is my calligram. It was fun to write a letter to myself for this project, I enjoy thinking about the future. When I think about the future, I think a lot about the house that I will live with my family. I think a lot about the interior of the house, but I also think about my family spending time in the house and enjoying it. That is why I chose a house for my reference picture. I love bright colors and I think it is fun to think and hope that maybe in the future bright colors on houses will be more acceptable and maybe I can have a pink purple and green house like this one.  I first started by making the picture of the house the background and locking the layer. I then outlined it using the pen tool and filled in the shapes with the text. I went back and added detail by using different characters for the window frames, door handle, and the brick of the house. I think this really made the house come to life. I also added in the chimney and made it the word family because like I t
